Hurley shapes have evolved over the years as hurling has developed from a ground hurling game to today’s game of hooking and blocking air shots.
All styles and shapes of hurleys are catered for at Frank Murphy Hurleys from the original 1900s model to the modern day big bás hurley.
The popular styles of hurley today are known by region; Kilkenny style, Cork style, Tipperary style etc. or by the intercountry hurler that uses that shape. Patterns of each style are available to view in our workshop. The most popular style requested today is our own Frank Murphy Hurley’s Big Bás Hurley.
